Book review:
It’s easy with Apples,
Published in 1972 by Muller & Retief in Cape Town and Pretoria.
It is a great 64 page book packed with recipes and colored photographs.
Apart from the recipes the book also gives the history of apple farming in South Africa;
The different varieties and storing requirements and gives hints on freezing and working with apples.
- The recipes include
- Hors d’oeuvres and snacks
- Meat dishes and main courses.
- Vegetables, salads, desserts, cakes, tarts and pies, jams, jellies, sweetmeats, chutney etc.
- Apples for breakfast, fruit cups.
